Hawaiian Opakapaka (Pink Snapper) - Sashimi Cut
Opakapaka is Hawaii's most beloved snapper, a fish once reserved for the islands' kings and still the standard by which local snapper is judged. The flesh is a pale rose that cooks to fluffy white flakes, with a creamy texture and a buttery, delicately sweet flavor that feels refined without trying.
It is as versatile as it is elegant, gentle enough to steam whole in the island tradition, lovely sauteed or baked, and clean enough to enjoy raw. Beautiful on the plate and easy to love, it is a fish that makes any dinner feel considered.
Best for: steaming, sauteing, baking, and raw. Wild-caught in Hawaiian waters.
A note on weight: Every cut is portioned by hand, so the exact weight varies slightly from the size you choose. You may receive a little over or a little under, and your order is billed at the listed price for that size. That is the nature of a fresh, hand-cut product.
